On the 22nd March, I received a message on BOINC Manager saying that the pogs project was changing url. I updated both my systems and thought no more about it, until today. I am now being pestered every few minutes or so with the same message, it is not "coming" again, time after time, but BOINC Manager keeps telling me there is a message, unless of course, it is coming and overwriting the earlier. Short of dumping the project, is there something I can do to stop it?

Examples.

This project is using an old URL. When convenient, remove the project, then add http://pogs.theskynet.org/pogs/

Did you already check the pogs forums? There is a thread that says they changed from http to https and back to http. https://pogs.theskynet.org/pogs/forum_thread.php?id=785

So you need to make sure you attached via http (no s) in order to get rid of this message.

My question was really a BOINC question, I was asking can I stop receiving them, not, can I stop them being sent. I have made that change now.

No, there is no way to turn this message of on the Client besides changing the source code and deactivating the master_url check for all projects.

Setting the 'Notice reminder interval' to "never" (Options | Other options...) will make the notices less obtrusive. But that's a very blunt instrument - you can't filter notices individually, and you might miss something more important.

Message 77007 - Posted: 29 Mar 2017, 8:46:02 UTC - in response to Message 77006.

Setting the 'Notice reminder interval' to "never" (Options | Other options...) will make the notices less obtrusive.

This will only disable the balloon notification from the Windows system tray, it will not disable the Notices, these still gather in the Notices tab and the tab itself shows how many unread notices one has.
