At a couple of projects, I have my account in duplicate. Both accounts have the same name.

2) adrianxw 0 0.00 Denmark
3) adrianxw [Founder] 0 0.00

It looks like one is being set up by the project at initialisation because I am the founder of our team, and the other is set up by me when I discover the project. Surely, if the account is already there, I should not be able to create the second.

They both appear to have the same e-mail.

I think this is a new problem, it is only a couple of new projects where I can see this happening.

Why should I be able to create the second account? It has a sort of buggy smell.

The unique identifier is the email, not the account name. There are plenty of other people in this world called Adrian, who if they want to, can all register with that name.

Re: having the same email, do check for typos in the email address. Or a different prefix or suffix. As far as I know, the email address isn't case-sensitive, nor checked on that. So Adrian@Adrian.net is the same as adrian@adrian.net, but Adrain@Adrian.net isn't.

They are the same. The user ID is different, 363 and 2358, but that is no surprise. My e-mail hasn't changed for many years.

The two accounts are somehow linked. If I click Project - Account on the 363 account, it calls the 2358 page up.

At the other project I have seen this I have:

7) adrianxw 268,033 0.43 Denmark
18) adrianxw [Founder] 0 0.00

They are the same

In that case you'll have to raise a github issue over this, and include the account details and possibly the email address(es) used. At least state which projects are affected.

Okay, I'll do that.

Off topic, after I was born, my parents held a "christening party", (an old habit probably not done today, but in the 1950's it was done), a relative baked a big cake and iced it, but spelt my name wrong just as you did.

Gist from the github issue: The email addresses of the two accounts are different. One comes from BOINC wide teams and one was created manually later.

My advice is to change the email of the BWT account to one that is accessible and there is no need to create a separate account on new projects that have BWTs already imported in the future.

Changing existing accounts with the old email address on projects is difficult since Adrian has no way to login to that account. Ownership of the team (at least on the two mentioned projects) should be transfered to an account that is accessible or someone else could take ownership of the team (since the current founder cannot deny the transfer request).

I was able to log in to BWTs and change the e-mail and password for the team, hopefully that will suffice. It remains something of a curiosity to me that, a) the problem was not obvious when discovered, browsing, I could not see the difference, possibly because b) the two accounts seemed to be linked in some way with one showing results from the other.

Cheers Christian.
