Hello Everyone.
I just have a quick Question.
1) is It possible to setup Boinc Serve at my home for personal use connecting 5-6 Laptops or Desktop.
2) If answer is Yes for above question than my next question is , Do client and Server can communicate without internet connection. I mean like intranet rather then Internet connection. ?

Thank you so much in advance.

ThankYou so much for your Reply.
Actually i am finding difficulties installing server on my laptop. I am using VM provided by Boinc itself for Oracle Virtual box but it is quite confusing. Can You suggest me what is the best way to use server like VM, fresh installation on linux or if you can share some useful online resource that can help me to setup a small POC.

I think it would be best if I asked somebody like Christian Beer to pass by this thread - he prepared the server VM you're trying to use, and hearing your difficulties first-hand might inspire improvements (or links!) to the documentation.

In the meantime, you might explain what type of application you're intending to deploy from the server, and process using the other machines on your LAN - then any help offered can be more precisely targeted.

What do you find confusing? The first steps are described here: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/trac/wiki/VmServer and there is a README-vbox-image file in the zip that also explains how to use the VM.

Hello Richard,
I've got a similar problem.
I have set up the project skeleton as described in the documentation http://boinc.berkeley.edu/trac/wiki/MakeProject

I'm not able to figure out exactly how to host the test application.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
