BOINC is crashing my linux machine within 10 seconds of starting BOINC. The machine is stable without BOINC running. I have reinstalled BOINC and no difference. I aborted the currently running tasks but as soon as the next tasks started, the machine locked up again and rebooted. What can I do to troubleshoot why BOINC is crashing my machine?

Thank Richard, I got the machine back running through a lot of trial and error and a lot of help from TBar. Seems like the problem has a resemblance to an old BOINC 6.2.18 error I found via Google.

Probably something to do with the ComputeCache but I fumbled around a bit and got it working before that information came to light.

You can close the thread.

Sounds like a permissions issue.Is that the Tbar version?

Man, you guys are really after the Easy version of BOINC aren't you?

You should ask what the machine was running rather than first trying to find a fault in someone else's work. Here, does this sound familiar;
<core_client_version>7.5.0</core_client_version>

Note what version of BOINC that machine is running, can you guess which machine it is?
Outcome : Computation error
Client state : Compute error
Exit status : -185 (0xFFFFFF47) ERR_RESULT_START

Keith was running Petri's Alpha version of CUDA 9, it has Nothing to do with BOINC.
BTW, that's the Alpha version Keith was trying to get me to Post, maybe now he'll realize why I haven't posted it yet.

Petri posted the link for download. I didn't know it was considered Alpha. Thought it was Beta. Isn't Alpha normally a closed release and Beta is what gets shipped to end-users to try out?

Notice that you are running the xs3 version TBar.

I still am seeing a drop in Inconclusives and Invalids for the xs2 Alpha compared to the {3v Beta?} So far, a good trend.
