I get the following message when I start BOINC--

Does my 'puter have to be remotely controlled?

Is this anything to be concerned with?

I'm running winxp pro w/sp 2.

I think you are after the Remote Control not allowed error message? It's actually not an error, it's a statement that your version is one computer, not the major part of a farm.

Read the Wiki on these:
Remote Control Alllowed.

Remote Control Not Allowed; using loopback address.
