hello ppl,

i'm using BOINC for about 2 years now, in the WCG project.
not so long ago i heard about the milkyway@home project, and joined it.
the problem is that my Video card does not support the calculation (ATI Radeon 5770..). but this is something we can't solve.

the real thing is, i noticed that there is no way to control the usage of the GPU.
is there a way to control the GPU usage, like the CPU?
if there is, wht not adding it to the manager?

tnx

If by this you mean "to limit the amount of processing that the graphics card does", (50%, 70%, etc), then no. The cards are designed to use ALL of the processors on it.

If you mean use the card for processing, or DON'T use the card for processing, then that's an option in your preferences on the web sites of your projects, (IF they have up-to-date server code), and in your preferences in the menu of your BOINC Manager.

ok, i got it..

now, the option "Use GPU while computer is in use" works like the CPU option?
when i will use the computer, and this option is checked then GPU will suspend? or only when i'll use the GPU?

When "Use GPU while computer is in use" is checked, calculations will be done on the GPU while you are using the computer. So you'll have to uncheck it to suspend work on the GPU while you use the computer. Work will then only be done on the GPU when the computer is otherwise idle (no mouse movements or keyboard use).
