The new BBC project has work units that take months. I have been processing 5 units and 3 have failed with error. I am not sure how many years it finished, but having these long running work units will happy to SETI in the near future (1 to 2 weeks if I remember correctly).

I would be nice if the client backup up the work unit every 4 hours. If a problem happened, move back to the last good unit, and start processing again.

You will need to set a error threashold. For instance I might want to set the threashold at 3 for the new SETI units when they become available and I would probably set it at 100 for the BBC project.

I also think the BBC could have set up the projects as years, so I would get 100 littler projects to run instead of one huge one.

The WU's cant be smaller on BBC as they need the full 160yrs to make sure the model is running correctly so smaller ones will not do this, if you post in CPDN forum you will get a better response about failing WU's they are usually because your computer can't hack it or a program is interfering with the projects.

SETI won't have problems as the WU's are not massive and they don't calculate as much as CPDN does
