After a network outage my system returned everything it had and basically started fresh. It downloaded got 2 new Wilkyway@home work packets and 2 new SETI@home work packets (one is in progress so I don't have the exact time it came in with):

Packet To completion Report Deadline
M@h-1 199:42:48 8/24/2011
M@h-2 38:??:?? 8/24/2011 Running, high priority
SETI-1 6:20:21 9/27/2011
SETI-2 6:20:21 9/27/2011

So, Milkyway@home sent out one packet that will take a 1.5+ days and another that will take 8+ days to complete and they both have to be back in 12 days. SETI, on the other hand, sent out 2 packets that will each take 6 hours and don't have to be back for 45 days!! So my system will now be dedicated to completing the MW packets for the next week to the total exclusion of SETI's work. Is this intentional on the part of WM?!? Are they really able/allowed to set the parameters so they will squeeze out other projects? Shouldn't the implied priorities have to be normalized??
