I am trying to get the Android BOINC App to connect to an account manager which isn't one of the three listed in the drop down menu. Is there some way I can do this, or if not, please may I request this as a change for the next released version? It works fine in the Windows version. Thanks. |

If it is for the Gridcoin one, you have to follow the instructions on their site. |

Hello Dave, Thank you for the quick response. Yes, I am indeed trying to set it up for Gridcoin. Unfortunately, the instructions no longer work - please see the notes posted by someone else also having the same problem at https://cryptocurrencytalk.com/topic/113816-android-support/. |

What if you use the "Add project by URL" option? In 7.14.1, that's Projects->Three dots->add URL. |

I don't think I have that option; is 7.14.1 an Android BOINC version? I have 7.4.53, which is the latest according to https://boinc.berkeley.edu/download_all.php. Thanks. |

7.14.1 is a beta. It's available from the Google Play Store if you tell it you want to test BOINC. Go to https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=edu.berkeley.boinc, set you want to test BOINC, exit the play store and return to it. Or on your Android device open the play store and check for new versions of applications, BOINC should be among them. |

Thank you for the advice. After some fiddling around, I managed to get on to the Beta programme for BOINC. (I think I didn't have the Beta option in Google Play in Windows, but I managed to find it on my Android mobile device, or vice-versa.) I can't find a new version to download on my mobile device, but I did manage to find and install version 7.14.1 on BlueStacks 3, which suggests to me that my mobile device is probably too old (in terms of Android version) to run the new Beta BOINC. I then tried the 'Add project by URL' option on version 7.14.1 under BlueStacks, but I was unable to connect. Presumably this is failing since I am actually trying to connect to a BOINC account manager rather than a project. As a result, I think I am now at a dead end, short of building my own version of BOINC from the source code, which looks complicated. |

At the moment, volunteer developers are having a blitz on bringing the Android code up-to-date. At least five areas of code are waiting for testing and approval before being made available to the public in finished form: two more are still being worked on. All will have to be merged and tested as a complete system, before going out as a public Beta. And sorry, no, we don't maintain an ETA for work as complex as that. |
