Hello! I am currently mining for 4 projects, 3 of which are GPU projects. I want BOINC to use both GPUs, but it's only using my RX 580 to mine one task at a time. How can I get it to use my HD7770 on another project simultaneously? Many thanks for your help! I'll tip anyone who can help me 50 Gridcoin! |

I had to create my own cc_config.xml and save it to my C:\ProgramData\BOINC directory; there wasn't one in there already. After this didn't work, I uninstalled and re-installed BOINC altogether. I've done this and restarted my computer, still no cc_config.xml populated in the directory, nor additional GPU use. I get the feeling the configuration file is located in another directory....? Still need some help! |

If you make it with Notepad, it adds a .txt to the end (that Windows then hides). So check the extension, make sure it's only .xml Also when made in Notepad, save in ANSI format. After that you have to exit BOINC & restart it, as GPU detection is only done at BOINC startup. |

The simplest way these days - now you've inadvertently given away that you're running Windows - is to make, apply, and then unmake and save a trivial change to one of the Event Log Options (Ctrl+Shift+F, from BOINC Manager). That will create a complete, working, cc_config.xml file with your current settings as defaults. Then, edit that file with a plain text editor like Notepad, and change 0 to 1 in the relevant line. As Jord says, for this particular value a restart of BOINC is necessary: for many of the others 'Read config files' from the Manager is sufficient. |

Hey, thanks for the "inadvertent" help Rich! I'm running with both GPUs now! Peace out! |

I'm having the same issue with the second GPU not being used. A little background: windows 10, on an MSI GT83VR 2xGTX 1070s, 64GB Ram. To date, I've been using an older MSI with a single GTX 1060, and upgraded for more 'crunching' speed. I've done the steps above and tried changing both lines in all 4 possible configurations, in the: C:/ProgramData/BOINC/cc_config.xml file: <no_gpus>0</no_gpus> <use_all_gpus>1</use_all_gpus> Still no luck. do you have any suggestions? |
