I am having a problem merging a machine back to it's self after a crash/re-build. Cosmology, Boinc Server V 14210M. Why can't I merge these two? Thanks for the thought Ageless, that didn't do the trick though. I also re-named the machine in case the server SW is case sensitive- still no go. One thing you could try, it worked once for me : When the project is empty, edit client_state.xml, find the <project> section for Cosmology and in that section the <hostid> Change that one to the old ID, then contact the server once (but without fetching work). That should pull the old and the new host entry to identical characteristics. Then edit client_state.xml back to the old <hostid> value and re-enable work fetch. The two hosts should now be offered as merge candidates. All modifications in client_state.xml require that BOINC is not running or you risk lost or damaged results. |
