Hi
I hope I am in the correct forum.

I have an i7 processor with CUDA devices. The X86 Boinc software does not recognise all the processors and under-utilises the i7 capabilities. The Boinc Linux software sees the processors correctly. Are there plans for a fix for the X86 version to use the i7 properly?

You will have to set the amount of CPUs you want to use through the web preferences, or through BOINC Manager->Advanced Preferences.

For BOINC 5.10 and before, look for the line that says: "On multiprocessors, use at least NUMBER processors."
For BOINC 6.2 and above, look for the line that says: "On multiprocessors, use at least PERCENTAGE of the processors."

In the first case, this is for you 8, in the second it's 100%, if you want to utilize all 4 processors, plus their hyperthreading brothers.

You can find these preferences in the computation preferences of any project you are attached to.

As for CUDA, the only projects that use CUDA at the moment are GPUGrid and Seti; the latter only has a Windows application thus far. No Linux, no Mac. GPUGrid on the other hand has only got GPU applications, no CPU applications.

So I don't know where you want to go use it...
